The Dunstone Education Trust is proud to welcome you to our website. Our first academy is Fulwood Academy in Preston. Established in September 2009, Fulwood Academy is a diverse, thriving example of the work that our Trust does. Fulwood Academy is a 755 pupil strong establishment and has students varying from age 11 to 16.
We believe that strong relationships between our students and teachers are the foundation required for personal progression and educational excellence. Our staff and trustees are dedicated to providing our pupils with an exceptional support network and learning experience.
Our Interim Principal, Mrs Jane Bailey, proudly steers the academy to success, and firmly believes that every school should provide pupils with a supportive and encouraging environment. Students thrive and unlock potential talents, and at the Dunstone Education Trust, we strive to encourage not only academic but personal growth.
It is a privilege to shape young minds and develop the next generation. With our extensive educational programme brings with it a myriad of extra-curricular activities that boost interpersonal skills and personal confidence. The range of activities available to students at Fulwood Academy encourages our young people to perform and create. Sports and the Arts help our students to develop the essential qualities of character and integrity.
Our vision for Fulwood Academy and every other future school under the Dunstone Education Trust banner is that our staff and students work as a team in the pursuit of excellence for all. We are committed to providing our students with a secure platform from which they can flourish and blossom into successful young adults.
Sir Charles Dunstone is our proud Sponsor at Fulwood Academy, and his goal as Sponsor Member is to provide students with the highest chance of reaching their full potential during their time at the academy and after they leave.
Fulwood Academy firmly believes that people and young adults should support their local community. Local to the academy in Preston are offices for large employers, The Carphone Warehouse and TalkTalk. In addition to direct project funding from Sir Charles Dunstone, our academy is further supported by the local companies and working community. We are entirely determined and committed to providing our students with the very best environment and facilities to grow and evolve both academically and personally.
At Fulwood Academy, we encourage our students to strive for personal bests in both academia and extra curricular activities. We run sports teams, Duke of Edinburgh awards and Learning groups to help our students reach the pinnacle of personal growth and success. We understand that, as necessary as academia is, it is vital that we allow and support our students to grow and flourish outside of the classroom. Through our extra-curricular activities, we provide our students with creative outlets and the freedom to express and build their self-confidence and team working skills.
