Dear Parents and Carers,

It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself to you as the sponsor of Fulwood Academy and the Dunstone Education Trust.

My sole aim is to create the best possible academy, in order to give its pupils the greatest chance of reaching their full potential whilst at the academy, and after they leave.

Carphone Warehouse and TalkTalk are very large employers in the local area and I believe strongly that as such we should be involved in, and support the community in which we operate. Whilst I will be funding the academy personally, it is being done with the full support of the company and together we are determined to provide the very best environment and facilities for those at the academy.

It is my intention that Fulwood Academy will build on the existing strengths of the predecessor school to create a beacon of educational excellence, which provides opportunities and facilities for successful learning in the 21st Century. Our aim will be to ensure that all our pupils become academically successful, articulate, informed, skilled and compassionate citizens.

At the heart of the academy, we have a House system which will engage every pupil personally and positively in the life of the academy. The House system will provide a driving force for academy improvement and for academic, personal and social success. I am sure that you will share with me a sense of excitement and anticipation about the establishment of Fulwood Academy.

I look forward to working with Fulwood’s staff and pupils and to meeting the families of the Fulwood Academy community in the future.
